He received his undergraduate education at Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry, then enrolled in a PhD program at Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Orthodontics, and graduated with the title of Dr. Med. Dent.
After completing his doctorate, he was accepted to the fellowship program at Virginia Commonwealth University, Department of Orthodontics in the USA, where he participated in clinical and scientific studies on Invisalign, accelerated orthodontic treatments, and orthopedic treatments at early ages and in adulthood.
Dr. Caner Balta is a founding member of the Turkish Aligner (Orthodontic Treatment with Transparent Plaques) Society, and serves in its Education Committee. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, World Federation of Orthodontics, European Aligner Society and Turkish Orthodontics Association. He still writes on scientific reviews for international journals.
